The deadline for donating art has now come and gone, and I sit here admiring all the wonderful art awaiting this year’s exhibit. Over 80 artists are participating. There is a such a wonderful array of work that I can’t just hide it all until October 1st. So I will be posting some of the art as a little teaser over the next few weeks. Please keep checking back!

Today’s piece comes from Roberta Schmidt, a wonderful artist who also participated last year. Roberta was inspired to participate because of someone she knows with autism. In her artist’s statement for the above piece entitled “Hope”, Roberta says, “When thinking of creating art for this project, I knew I wanted this one thought to come through: Autism can be an isolating experience for children, but with proper education, love, patience, support…there is hope. I know it is exists, because I have seen the reality of it with my own eyes.” Such a beautiful thought!

Roberta also helps Art Now for Autism by creating some fabulous t-shirt designs for our Cafe Press shop. Be sure to check back for the big reveal of this year’s t-shirts next week. To learn more about Roberta, please visit her web site www.ArtcyLucy.com.
