What is a reverse auction?

A couple people have asked me about this year’s reverse auction and how it works. So I thought I would explain in more detail. This year’s Art Now for Autism is a reverse auction so prices actually go down instead of up. There are no bids in the traditional sense. Everything is grouped together at a set price that drops, but you don’t want to wait to buy your favorite piece or it might be gone!

Preview of exhibit is October 1 – 4, 2009
Art exhibit will be open online at www.artnowforautism.com. All work will be viewable but not on sale.

Reverse Auction – October 5 – 10, 2009
Everything starts at the same price with price cuts every two days.

October 5-6 – Day 1 & 2 – All art is $90.
The reverse auction begins at 9am EST on October 5th.

October 7-8  Day 3 & 4 – All art is $60.
Prices drop to $60 at 9am EST on October 7th.

October 9-10 Day 5 & 6 – All art is $30.

Rmember 100% of art sales will go to Autism Speaks, a national autism awareness and research organization.
