Earlier this week I was able to honor my Hometown Heroes for Autism Spectrum Disorders. These awards are given to local Anne Arundel County, Maryland teachers, parents, family members, therapists, etc. who make a difference in the autism community. I nominated two of my son’s wonderful teachers and was so glad that I could show my appreciation for everything they do. It was a very touching evening with lots of wonderful tributes. On a fun note, everyone at the event got to enjoy the autism ribbon cake from Charm City Cakes (Check out their show on the Food Network called Ace of Cakes!) Really neat.
