So I just put finishing touches on the details for this year’s Art Now for Autism. Wow! I have made some big changes so I hope all of you will be understanding and not freak out. Remember, change is a good thing!
First off, Art Now will be a reverse auction this year. The exhibit will be October 1-10, 2009. The first four days will be a preview of art. The entire exhibit will be open, but you won’t be able to buy. Starting October 5th, the reverse auction begins. You might think, “What the heck is a reverse auction?” Well, basically the prices go down instead of up. Day 1 & 2 of the reverse auction, everything will be $90. On Day 3 & 4, art will be $60. On Day 5 & 6, art will be $30… Day 6 is the final day. The reverse auction will be exciting and encourage donors to buy now instead of wait!
Other changes, the deadline for art donations is now a full month ahead of the exhibit. This will allow me to get a bigger and better exhibit together. Deadline is September 1, 2009!
Also artists will now send only digital images to me for use in the exhibit. Artists will hold their work until it sells and then ship their work directly to the buyer. This will cut down on extra shipping.
