November Update

Dear Art Now friends,

Even though Art Now came to a close on October 31st, things are still rather busy here. I have a handful of orders still awaiting payment and shipment, and I have begun the enormous process of shipping art back to artists. If your art didn’t sell, it is coming home to you unless otherwise discussed with me. I am hoping to get everything shipped over the next week.

The Big Total
We raised over $7,000 this year and over 200 works of art sold. Over 120 artists participated. A tremendous growth from last year’s sale. I really wish I could have sold more art as many fabulous pieces didn’t sell. I think we were hard hit by the difficult economic news during October. Many thanks to all the participating artists and donors! I appreciate you more than you can imagine!

Walk Now for Autism
Saturday was the Washington, DC Walk Now for Autism. The weather started out rainy but slowly improved to a nice sunny day. When I get a chance, I will post some photos to the Art Now blog. You really must see my puzzle hat! At last check, the event has raised over $750,000 for Autism Speaks.

Next year
I am reevaluating just about everything and trying to figure out a way to improve things and cut down on my personal costs in running Art Now for Autism. I am hoping to put together a survey for your opinions soon. Plans for next year will be announced in April or May 2009.

Facebook anyone?
I finally joined Facebook. Also I started an Art Now for Autism group on Facebook. SO if you are on Facebook, look for me – Claudine Johnson Intner – and for the Art Now for Autism group. We continue to have a yahoo discussion group, too!

That’s all for now! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
